pretty things

I love everything going on in this picture above. A long time ago I pinned the monogrammed "D" pillow and found this picture with it. The pillow is Luxury Monograms (luxurymonograms.com). I also love the gold sunburst mirror. I found a Martha Stewart Living one at Home Deport for under $40 that I think I may have to go back and get. I believe the black and white rug is Ikea.

This is another one of my favorite images that I have pinned. Everything about this room is cozy and clean to me and I want to jump into this photo and live here! Ironically it also shows some gorgeous monogramming. I also spy a J Crew panama hat that I own myself and am slightly obsessed with. The Audubon bird prints are what make the room in my opinion. Someone I follow on instagram (saramuellerdesigns.com) recently posted that she came across two Audubon prints at Homegoods.

Clutches like these K.slademade (www.kslademade.com) ones above are becoming more popular. A lot of people are loving Clare Vivier's which I love too, but I like the tassel on the K.slademade.

fall + instagram

The combination of cooler weather and football is always an anticipated arrival. There are many other things I love that come with the transition into fall: wardrobe change, updated seasonal decorations, Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, no more re-runs...new episodes of favorite shows and then new shows introduced, windows down and sunroof open on drives, pumpkin patches popping up, the cinnamon smell at Fresh Market, pleasant porch time spent drinking coffee in the morning or a Blue Moon after work...and the list goes on.

lovely miscellany

I am loving all the personalized options over at the daninotes Etsy page that I found thanks to a great blog I often peak at. Here are some of my favorites:

 One of these platters would be great just sitting on a coffee table for display.

Color is in. But we all know that by now. It's been popular to mix bright colors in as accents but now you can get a little crazy with it and mix about any colors in one look.
 J. Crew's Fall line is majorly inspiring me to mix things up.

Did you know that in addition to the infamous bulky gold watches, Michael Kors has introduced a full jewelry line... I love piling on gold jewelry, so I love all his ad looks showing off the new line. I like that nude sweater too...

And it was the Michael Kors ads that had me craving a gray wardrobe last winter...

I never did run across a lot of gray though when I wanted it last year and then one day last week I was freezing at work...cold enough that I ran to go grab a cardigan on my lunch break. {That sounds a little extreme every time I say it. I'm telling you, it was freezing!} The clearance rack at TJ Maxx did not let me down and in fact I came across a slew of different light gray sweaters- all Vivienne Tam, all $9.99, all extremely comfy.

This is a lot of miscellany for one post, but I'm going to keep it going.

I've been hanging with my new bud Carlisle a lot.

She's getting bigger every week.

I saw a really cute and colorful zig-zag towel on Luella&June and the brand was Roxy. Remember Roxy? I haven't thought about Roxy in forever. But when I saw that towel I figured things may have evolved over at Roxy. I didn't find the towel I liked, or maybe I didn't look good enough; however, I found these cute totes.

I would for sure use that to tote books if I was still a student. I can't make up my mind it I would monogram or leave as is.

I feel like summer is coming to a close. I kinda blame magazines. They're always a season ahead and I kinda hate that. We still have the whole month of August but I guess that's the home stretch.
Lastly, go read this blog post as it is pretty inspiring. And this story alone is inspiring and is the one the post refers to at the beginning.

gift tag

I just entered a giveaway to receive a $75 gift certificate to Tiny Prints. To enter, I went over to their web site and chose my favorite product...from stationary to business cards, they have some cute and creative stuff. But this gift tag was definitely my fav. Am I over doing it on liking such strong yet simple prints....the stripes, polka dots, zig zag? I can't help it! Simplicity is much more appealing to the eye. And it's not just the simple text and stripes that had me choosing this particular product- some quick and easy gift tag stickers is just what I need with baby showers and wedding parties galore! Hope I win!

zig-zag and stripes

I love zig-zag and Anthropologie is carrying zig-zag in the form of "bath baskets".

There is just something about the zig-zag look...and then there's stripes.
This black and white coat is from ASOS and it is a great one!

a few favorites

1. Mondo. How can you not love him. He made me cry, laugh and want to be more creative. And he is my favorite reason why not to judge a book by the cover. Missed Project Runway this season? Catch the re-runs ASAP! This was the best one yet.

P.S. I've been here! {Mood}
2. coffee shops. or bookstores with coffee shops.

3. AT&T Park in San Francisco. This year's World Series games in San Fran had me aching to go there after already having the desire to go! I hear it's one of the best places on earth to watch a baseball game. I'm putting this on my to-do list!

4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows is on the big screen this month!!! I can't believe it's been over 3 years since I read the book when it first hit bookstores. I know this movie will be one of the best just as the book was! And look at little Hermione all grown up in the December 2010 issue of Marie Claire.5. Red-headed Samantha over at Could I Have That makes me want to make Hot Toddies stat. Wonder if it will bring Ole Miss any luck if I do!

6. cashmere sweaters. striped tops. {or the combo!}

7. Kelly's Fashion Finder

8. Tory's blog 9. Erica's blog
10. Gap's glitter ballet flats {or the black glitter Toms that I found out exist but have yet to lay eyes on!}

11. Natasha Bedingfield's "Strip Me". Listen here!

12. The tan and white pattern below from Calypso was featured on this blog and the fact that I picked out three pillows in that pattern {but in black and white} at the first of the year for our den... I think this means that I've actually got good design taste?!
[if you liked this, check out a few great things.]

i love a thursday afternoon!

Forget Fridays. When college came around, it was all about Thursdays. Barely any real responsibilities and no classes on Friday? Check. Enter new favorite day: Thursday. The start to the weekend and the biggest social scene come evening. Time to let a little loose, putting the week behind us.

Nowadays, I still love a good Thursday... as soon as I wrap up work for the day. We are almost always cooking out for dinner on summer Thursdays with morale sky high. There's something so nice about the weekend being right around the corner.

[picture irrelevant, but a great summer weekend look!]

i love betty!

Betty has a heart of gold and, as crazy as her outfits are, I love her style and like to see what she wears! The whole show is seriously the highlight of my week.
