must have: nude shoes

1. Me Too Patty flats / 2. Michael Kors Flex Low pump / 3. Tory Burch Aaden Mid Heel Pump / 4. Sam Edelman Orly Slingback pump / 5. Via Spiga Quip Espadrille / 6. Tory Burch Caroline Ballerina flat

Lately I've noticed that my nude shoe collection is spiking. Approaching May, wearing black shoes just doesn't feel right to me for some weird reason so I decided that I needed to expand my shoe collection by adding more nude ones - they really go with everything and with more options I don't have to wear the same pair everyday. I think the weird reason is that my fall through winter wardrobe consisted of mainly black skirts, black tights and either black booties or my black Revas, so I associate black with cooler weather. Whatever the reason, I am on a nude-kicks kick right now. These are my favorites for weekdays above. I've added #1, #2, #3 and #5 to my own collection so I think I am now covered as far as nude shoes go.

A Mint Green St. Paddy's Day

Mint green has been heavily put on the map lately and has turned into a must-have for spring and summer. I hardly own anything green myself and whenever St. Patrick's Day comes around I can barely find one green thing to put on my body, but mint green is one shade of green I will be putting in my closet.

1. Nine West mini shoulder bag {Friends & Family Event's 20% off going on now} 2. Mod Cloth's Mint to Be lightweight summer scarf 3. Essie's Mint Candy Apple 4. Sprout watch 5. Kendra Scott Sam Necklace in Chalcedony {15% off green jewelry now!} 6. Asos top & skirt 7.KG by Kurt Geiger platform sandal

If you are in the position to splurge big time, this Chole Madeleine Tote in mint green is pretty amazing.
If I decide to splurge on some mint green, it's definitely going to be the Kendra Scott Sam Necklace. Since it's 15% off I'm thinking of going for it.

Spring Fever

It seems like for the past month I have been picking up either beach cover-ups or one-shoulder tops everywhere I go. I first started my collection when I ordered these pleated one-shoulder tops and the pink, floral, and watercolor patterned flowy tops from ASOS.
I love light and flowy tops in the spring and summer. They are versatile since they can be thrown on with shorts,  skinny jeans, or even my white skirt I found last summer. Can even belt at the waist to switch up the look of the same top. And most importantly, these tops, especially the one-shoulders, keep me cool when it gets unbearably hot.
I'm planning to wear the white ones with my new light pink J Brand skinny jeans I picked up at UAL.

I've since added to my collection a leopard cover-up, and two dresses, one a great blue and white beachy print and the other a bright fuchsia with a bright orange tie for the waist.

colored jeans

Colored jeans are all over the place right now and at first I wasn't so sure how I felt about the bold statement they make. This picture above {that I found here} pretty much had my mind settled though. It not only makes me want some turquoise jeans, it makes me want teal pumps too!

But when I started looking at all the options out there, it was hard to make a decision on just one color.
Luckily, when I was browsing here last week, I wasn't in a hurry to make that decision, and then I ended up stumbling upon a light pink pair of J Brands at UAL while I was in New Orleans this past weekend . If you've ever been to a UAL store, you know that they have awesome prices on high end designer brands - so I paid around $55 for them! They had so much great stuff so I left with my hands full and when I was about to leave Isla Fischer {the wild red-head in Wedding Crashers and wife to Sasha Baron Cohen} was standing right beside me in the store - turns out she is there filming a movie!

MargieRita

This weekend went by way too fast and that's usually what happens when you're having a good time! I sent Wesley an email this past week with our weekend schedules from here to July. It's a lot but it's gonna be fun and the sad part of it - it will probably fly by...

This weekend was Margie and Brandon's crawfish party - I was the photographer of the party and realized if I'm gonna start trying to capture good photos I need to start thinking about a new camera {I figured out my pictures were posting blurry instead of the quality of my camera taking blurry pictures, but I still may look into an upgrade!}We had such a good time drinking MargieRitas and eating lots of crawfish. Makes me ready for summer!

Lily, Jaded & Peachy

I purchased the perfect shades of spring in the form of nail polish today. Lily, Jaded & Peachy.

And after I painted my nails Peachy, I was inspired to shop for spring. Only, I pretended I had an unlimited budget to spend at Bloomingdale's so I picked out a few things!

a girls reunion-type weekend

It turned into a college friend reunion weekend. From Nashville, and Louisville and Tupelo.... to meet in Jackson. I miss the fun and eventful times of all living together and now we really cherish these weekends!

[Friday dinner at Bon Ami]

[Saturday lunch at Babalu]

[Drinks and amazing snacks at Pam and Larry's Saturday late afternoon/evening.]

The weather could not have been better. {This is why I'm labeling this- spring. It was 79 degrees and sunny all weekend long.} Perfect weather. Perfect friends.

He is not here; He has risen!

"He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you, while He was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'" Luke 24:6-7

Happy Easter! I heard this song by Abandon and it tells the story of our hero beautifully!
